Abrasive waterjet cutting, i.e. the ultrahigh-pressure cutting using a water-sand mixture, has a long tradition at Bystronic. During this time the company developed into an internationally leading competence center for the manufacture of waterjet cutting systems. With waterjet cutting, the cut material is influenced neither by thermal nor processing forces. Further striking characteristics of this process are the almost boundless range of materials that can be processed and the saving of incidental costs thanks to the high quality of the cut.
Laser cutting and waterjet cutting are mutually complementary. The Byjet waterjet cutting machine perfects the accuracy of the process amongst other things due to its high-precision cutting head and the automatic cutting distance adjustment. It demonstrates unique process security thanks to the automatic control over all critical parameters and sets new standards in terms of profitability. Byjet is the first mass-produced system on the market that can be equipped as standard with a shuttle table that can be loaded and unloaded during the cutting process. Also here, the principle of “Everything from a single source” applies. From the high-pressure pump, the precision cutting head and right through to the cutting basin, the components that influence process security are produced in-house.
